Ian Aitken to succeed Jon Beatty as IAE President and CEO
Dec 11, 2009 - (Press Release) IAE International Aero Engines has appointed Ian Aitken to become its President and CEO, succeeding Jon Beatty, who is returning to a senior position at United Technologies Corporation (UTC).

Ian joined IAE in June 2008 as Executive Vice President – Customer Business from Rolls-Royce where he held a number of leadership positions across the Civil Aerospace organization. Prior to joining IAE, Ian spent nine years as President – Corporate and Regional Aircraft at the IAE shareholder, responsible for directing the company’s global engine strategy in these markets.

Commenting on his appointment, Ian Aitken said: “IAE holds such a strong market position that it is an honor to be invited to lead such an organization. The V2500 has achieved unprecedented success based on a commitment to technology leadership. My objectives are to continue to grow the business, exceed our customers’ expectations and deliver profit to our shareholders. We have an incredible track record in all these areas, the challenge is to maintain it.”

Jon Beatty added: “It has been an honor to lead IAE through a period of sustained growth. During my tenure we have seen the number of customers increase by 40 percent, with a 30 percent rise in engines in service and we’ve added 50 percent more engines to the order backlog. I know that I am leaving the future of IAE in excellent hands and I wish Ian and the team continued success with the IAE collaboration.”
