MNG and Aeronautical Engineers Inc (AEI) sign B737-400SF conversion contract
Oct 23, 2009 - Miami, FL - Aeronautical Engineers, Inc (AEI) has been selected by MNG Airlines, based in Turkey, to provide one B737-400SF Passenger-to-Freighter conversion. A contract was signed at the ISTAT European conference in Dubrovnik. "We are very excited about this opportunity to work with MNG" stated Bob Convey, VP Sales & Marketing, who had recently joined AEI coming from Ancra International Cargo Systems. The aircraft, a high gross weight 737-400, MSN 24126 was built in 1989 and is currently undergoing freighter modification and C1, C2 and CPCP checks at Commercial Jet, Inc in Miami, Florida.


Mr. Ahmet Berkmen of MNG Airlines stated that "We're confident with our selection of the AEI P-to-F conversion based upon their longstanding reputation for delivering a quality product that is highly reliable and backed by industry leading customer support".

AEI's B737-400 shall provide MNG Airlines with a Main Deck capable of carrying multiple ULD's including 10 ea 88"x125" ULD's or 10 ea 88"x108" ULD's or a mixture of both.

AEI is currently in development of an optional 8 ea. 96"x125" plus 1 ea 88"x125" longitudinal cargo loading system. This unique flexibility has been designed by AEI to allow the operator to immediately adapt to multiple ULD configurations at a moments notice.
