Jetscape Appoints Nigel Turner to its Board of Directors

Sep 28, 2010 - FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA – Jetscape announced today the appointment of Nigel Turner to its Board of Directors. Nigel, formerly the CEO of British Midland Airways (bmi), will become non-executive Deputy Chairman of Jetscape with effect from the 1st of October 2010.

Commenting on the appointment, John Evans, Jetscape’s Chairman and CEO said “Nigel brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Jetscape and I warmly welcome him to our Board. He is widely known and highly regarded throughout the commercial aviation industry. Nigel’s collective strengths, including his airline experience, corporate governance skills, financial acumen, well-established credibility and countless industry relationships (both with airlines and within the capital markets) will significantly enhance our Board and will be valuable assets for Jetscape as we seek to expand our customer base, increase our capital and continue to profitably grow our business.”

Nigel currently sits on the Board of British Midland Airways where he serves as Deputy Chairman and also sits on the Board of NATS, the UK Air Navigation Services provider. He is 52 years of age and will be based out of the United Kingdom.

Nigel said “I am very much looking forward to joining Jetscape. The management team is very well established and respected, the order book is solid and in acquiring the Embraer E190 aircraft I think there is a great platform for growth as I believe there will be a massive market for this size aircraft in the next 10 years. I am honored to be offered this position”.  

Jetscape was founded in 2000 and engages in commercial aircraft leasing, management, remarketing and advisory services – providing innovative, custom-tailored solutions to commercial aircraft owners and operators worldwide.  Jetscape currently owns and manages 21 aircraft with 12 airline operators in 8 countries. Jetscape also has remaining firm orders for 7 new Embraer E-Jets, 6 of which are committed for lease to 4 operators in 4 countries.
